Merry-go-round with Chanel

Karl Lagerfeld has done it all…he had huge bows, bags, stairs or even a huge Chanel jacket on his runways. But yesterday he -again- surprised everyone with a big gigantic carousel in the middle of the Grand Palais in Paris.

Was that a hint to the “What goes around comes around” in fashion?

Well…maybe…but Karl showed some changes in his collection for fall 2008…The skirts are longer than usual, a lot of high-necked blouses and alltogether you could say that the clothes seemed more mature than before. He also reinvented the oh-so-popular Chanel jacket by showing worn-through elbows on them. Really surprising was, that there weren’t any accessories. No chains, no quilted bags, no camellias…you couldn’t find that on the models…you could find all of that on the carousel though. After the models made their walk around it…they sat down on supersized shoes, bags or even hats on the big Chanel carousel,  which then began to turn while Karl Lagerfeld walked out of it. My favorite part of the show were definately the black and white tights and the shoes. It’s just a matter of time until we will see those type of tights in every store…as I mentioned before…what goes around comes around with Chanel.
